How we reach the scores
We compare six areas: usable drying space, stated power demand, controls, storage footprint, construction and the circumstances in which each design is most useful. A high score means a product makes a strong, balanced case; it is not a laboratory-test result.
What matters most
Drying space and layout carry more weight than headline wattage. A lower-powered model can be cheaper per hour, but may need longer or hold less laundry. Covers may speed drying by retaining warm air, but ventilation remains important.
